the cloth. If this does not remove the stain,
work liquid detergent into it and rinse. A final sponging with alcohol helps to
remove the detergent, and the fabric dries faster. Test colors to make sure it
is safe to use alcohol on them.
3.
COMBINATION STAINS (greasy and non-greasy mixtures): On washable
fabrics, treat the stain first for the non-greasy portion, using cool water and
detergent as described in the two preceding paragraphs. Rinse the spot
thoroughly and let the material dry. Then sponge the remaining greasy part of
the stain with cleaning fluid'. Let the cloth dry and repeat if necessary. A bleach is sometimes needed to remove all traces.
On
non-washable fabrics, sponge the stain with cool water, or put a sponge under
the stain and force water through it. If a greasy stain remains, sponge it with
a grease solvent. Let it dry.
Repeat if necessary. For final traces use a bleach.
