DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE

2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 Tbsp. cocoa
Mix
dry ingredients together, then add one cup cold water, one cup mayonnaise or
salad dressing and 2 tsp. vanilla.
Mix
and bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees in 8" greased and floured pans.

Sift together 3
cups of confectioner's sugar and 1/2 cup cocoa. Make a well in the center. Add
and beat until smooth, 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened and 3 Tbsp. of
double strength coffee beverage. Add 1 egg and beat well.

1 1/2 lbs. Philadelphia cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
5 whole eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
18 graham crackers, crushed,
1 Tbsp. butter or (1 1/4 cup cracker crumbs,
1/4 cup sugar and 1/4
cup softened butter)
1 Tbsp. sugar
Let cream cheese
become softened at room temperature. Mix with electric beater until smooth. Add
whole eggs, one at a time, beating well. Then add sugar and vanilla. Make a
crust, using crumbs. Line bottom of 2 quart baking dish with crumb mixture.
Pour batter over crust slowly. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Then spread on
topping.
TOPPING
1 1/2 pts. sour
cream
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
Mix
sour cream, sugar, and vanilla. Spread on top of cake gently and bake in
preheated oven at 300 degrees for only 5 mins. When cool, place in refrigerator
to set, preferably overnight.
