3rd Generation Gingerbread

                                        Dee Family

1/4 cup molasses

1/2 cup milk

1/4 sugar

1/4 cup shortening

1 egg

1 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 cups of flour

1/4 tsp cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt

Combine sugar, shortening and egg. Beat well. Alternate milk & sifted dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes in 8” square pan. Serve with Whipped Cream, fudge sauce or with warm applesauce.
